Welcome to Room 107 at the Bates School!
In our classroom, we work on how to be a good friend and a good student. We practice what it means to be a good listener and we work on trying our best on our work at all times. The students in Room 107 work on earning positive rewards for doing their best and following directions. We have a star chart in which students can earn stars for doing a good job. 20 stars = a prize!!
A typical day in Room 107 looks like this:
7:30 Students arrive to school and eat breakfast together in the cafeteria
8:00 We have a Morning Meeting in which the students practice greeting each other appropriately, share interesting stories about ourselves, we go over the daily schedule and calendar, read our daily morning message, and we play a game! This is part of the Responsive Classroom Management program and is proven to be a successful tool in building children's social skills.
